Community Guidelines

Connections is part of Eat the Weight Off. People come here to find an accountability partner, a walking buddy, a cooking buddy, a friend who understands the journey — and sometimes something more. These guidelines keep it a place where that can happen.

Be Respectful

Treat all members with kindness and consideration, regardless of background, identity, or beliefs.
Engage in polite and constructive conversations—no harassment, hate speech, or bullying.

Keep It Safe

Protect your personal information and respect others' privacy.
Never share sensitive details (like your address or financial info) in public areas or with people you don’t trust.

Before You Move to Text

Plenty of members end up texting or following each other — that is usually a good sign, and it is how a walking buddy becomes a real one.
Trade a few messages here first. On Connections you can block someone and report them. Once you are in their text messages, you cannot.
No one on Connections will ever need your money, a gift card, or your bank details. If someone asks, stop talking to them and email info@eattheweightoff.com.

If someone you have just met pushes to move off Connections straight away — to text, to WhatsApp, to email — take that as a flag and slow down. It is the first move in nearly every scam that targets people looking for connection. Anyone here for the right reasons will wait.

Be Authentic

Use your own photos and accurate information on your profile. One photo is required — it is how people know you are a real person, and how they recognize you.
Be honest about what you are looking for, and respect what other people are looking for.

No Tolerance for Abuse

We do not allow threats, intimidation, or abusive behavior of any kind.
Do not impersonate anyone else or create a fake profile.
Do not send sexual content to anyone who has not asked for it.

Where Your Photos Go

Your photos live on your profile, not in chat.
You can add up to six photos to your gallery, plus one short video and one voice note if you would like people to hear you or see you say hello.
Any photo can be marked private in Edit Profile if you would rather not have it on public display.
You cannot send photos or files inside chat. Chat is for talking, voice calls and video calls.

That last part is deliberate. Keeping photos on profiles — where they belong to you, and where we can see them — is how we keep this a safe place to share a progress photo. If you want to show someone how far you have come, put it on your profile, privately if you prefer, and tell them to take a look.

Blocking and Reporting

You can block any member from inside a conversation, and they will not be able to reach you again.
If something is wrong — a member, a message, a photo, anything that does not sit right — email info@eattheweightoff.com. Every report is read, taken seriously, and handled discreetly.

Thank you for helping us build a safe and welcoming community.
By following these guidelines, you help make Connections a place where people feel safe enough to be honest about where they are.
